One of the standout features of this filter system is its ease of use, no pumps, batteries, or complex setup required. Simply fill the 3 L bag from any available water source, suspend it at a height, and let gravity do the rest. With a flow rate of around 1.7 L per minute, you can filter nearly a full bag in under three minutes when set up correctly, saving precious time and effort in the field. The LifeStraw has unlimited shelf life.

The membrane microfilters to 0.2 microns and removes:

• 99.999999% of bacteria (including E. coli)
• 99.999% of parasites (Giardia, Cryptosporidium, etc.)
