In Case Of Organic Red Hard Wheat is grown on the Canadian Prairies and is an excellent grain to add to your emergency food supply. Whether you're looking to use it as a berry in cereal, a sprout or you want to grind it into flour, red hard wheat provides you with an endless variety of meal options that you can prepare quickly and easily.
A wheat kernel has three parts: the bran, the endosperm, and the germ. The bran yields dietary fiber and Iron. The germ contains protein; vitamin E; B vitamins, phytonutrients and omega-3 fatty acids. Our Hard Red Spring Wheat normally has a protein content ranging between 12% and 15%. The endosperm, the largest part of the kernel, contains carbohydrates, some protein and trace amounts of vitamins and minerals.
Wheat berries are deliciously prepared like risotto, eaten in soups, cold in salads, hot pilafs or as a hot cereal. They can also be sprouted to create nutritious wheat sprouts. Wheat berries can be cooked into a creamy hot cereal alone or blended with other grains.
